The curricular Fine Arts programs encompass performing arts including strings, band, and choral music beginning in elementary school. Our dance program originates at the high school level. Visual art is offered beginning in Kindergarten and expands into multiple disciplines throughout Middle and High School. Our fine arts teachers are fully certified, professional educators and are specialists in their chosen artistic area. The success and accolades we have garnered over the past 60+ years are a direct result of the commitment from students, teachers, and family members, all working in congress toward the highest levels of excellence.
The co-curricular program at West Genesee is vast and offers students many opportunities to perform and display outside of the school day and school community. These opportunities are listed in our Middle School and High School handbooks. We also offer summer instruction on band and orchestral instruments, vocal lessons, two summer Theatre Camps, a Band/Jazz Camp and two String Camps.
WG was recognized in 2016 as one of the "Best Communities for Music Education in America." It was our 11th time since 2005 garnering this distinction, and our 8th year in a row. West Genesee High School was also a Grammy Signature School Semi-Finalist in 2015. We hope to see you at one of the many concerts or displays that are free to the public. The Fine Arts does indeed "Celebrate Learning!"
