Students are Advanced Placement Scholars

Seventy-three students and recent graduates of West Genesee High School have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by The College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations. Several levels of achievement are recognized based on the number of year-long courses and examinations (or their equivalent semester-long courses and examinations).

Graduates Anna Clark, Russell Graziano, Mark Kopp, Nicole Lattimore, David Leff, Amanda Lowther, Julia Musengo, Amber Oberlender, Amelia Ryan, Chistopher Tanzella, and Thi Tran qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these examinations.

Twenty-two students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honors Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these examinations. Seniors who qualified are Katherine Baldwin, Benjamin Bosak, Jose Castanon, Ryan Gentilcore, Katherine Graziano, Madelyn Lux, Alex Mangovski, Brian Mirabito, Cameron Mitchell, Mia Pienkowski, Jack Richards, Ryan Segar, Sophia Valerino, and Emily Young; and graduates Isabella Atanasova, Grace Craig, Jesse Elmer, Leah Jones, Julia Natoli, Sean O'Brien, Grace Van Hoven, and Olivia Watts also received this recognition.

Forty students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Examinations. The AP Scholars are seniors Jacob Bubb, Victoria DeSantis, Griffin Dombroske, Catherine Farrell, Raymond Fisher, Emma Flaherty, Kelsey Fox, Anthony Gettino, Igor Grebenevich, Micayla MacDougall, Lydia Magnante, Joanna Maressa, Christopher McAfee, Michael McGuigan, Claire Rein, Emily Shields, Ahmad Wady and David Wenner; along with graduates Dylan Amodio, Jessica Bobbett, Oleg Borisiuk, Bonnie Cahill, Luis (Manny) Castro, Sarah Channels, Kelly Cooper, Brennan Costello, Joseph Gauzza, Gabriella Gongora, Rachel Hillery, Laura Kirkpatrick, Clare Leo, Clara Liddell, Elyjah Pengel, Andie Schlenker, Grace Schnorr, Komal Siddiqui, Aaron Unger, Kathryn Verzillo, Cassandra Wetmore, and Clara Zanoni.
