High School Students Participate in a DWI Crash Assembly for their Peers

POSTED ON MAY 12, 2017

On Friday, May 12, 2017, a simulated car crash was presented at West Genesee High School by the Camillus Police Department, Fairmount Fire Department, Waves Ambulance, Buranich Funeral Home, Meyers Collision, the District Attorney and Medical Examiner's Office with students from the high school.

When asked what the purpose of the exercise is,  Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Chris Brown, responded, "To me this exercise is to give the students a heightened awareness of what can happen if bad decisions are made behind the wheel of a car."

Almost 400 seniors attended the assembly as many of them planned to finish out the day at their Senior Ball which many of them plan to drive to.

The cast was made up of the following: Sarah Channels, Mark Kopp, Grace Craig, Tracy Dowler, Joe Gauzza, and Avery Miller.
