High School Students Participate in a Modified DWI Crash Assembly for their Peers

On Friday, May 13, 2016, a simulated car crash was planned at West Genesee High School by the Camillus Police Department, Fairmount Fire Department, Waves Ambulance, Buranich Funeral Home, Meyers Collision, the District Attorney and Medical Examiner's Office with students from the high school. Due to rain, the presentation was modified to an assembly in the lower gymnasium.

When asked what the purpose of the exercise is,  Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Chris Brown, responded, "To me this exercise is to give the students a heightened awareness of what can happen if bad decisions are made behind the wheel of a car."

Almost 400 seniors attended the assembly as many of them planned to finish out the day at their Senior Ball which many of them plan to drive to.
