Swing-In 2015 will be at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 22 in the West Genesee High School Auditorium. Swing-In is an annual tradition of the West Genesee High School Fine Arts Department since 1968. Each year, we have invited a noted jazz musician to come to WGHS to rehearse with our students and perform as soloist.
Over the years, such notable jazz legends as Clark Terry, Grady Tate, Frank Foster, Phil Woods, Marvin Stamm, and Wayne Bergeron have appeared in Camillus as Swing-In soloists.
This year’s concert will feature Eastman School of Music Faculty Clay Jenkins as our guest artist. Jenkins will visit WGHS on April 21-22 and work with students from both Jazz Bands at the high school. You can hear Clay with the The Dave Slonaker Big Band on "Point Of Departure" (Live In Studio). He’s sitting next to our 2013 guest Wayne Bergeron! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7A-Gva-5rJU
Admission this year is free and all seats are general admission. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Plenty of free parking is available in the front and rear of the building.
