West Genesee Middle School will present the musical Yes Virginia on November 16 at 7:00 p.m. and November 17 at 2:00 p.m. The show is directed/produced by general music teacher, Christy Knowlton, with co-director Kate Cormier.
In 1897, Virginia O'Hanlon wrote a letter to the New York Sun asking, "Is there a Santa Claus?". She taught the world to believe and now her story is coming to life in a brand-new musical from Macy's.
The cast will feature students in grades 6-8 from WGMS and include: Miriam the Librarian (Camryn Mulpagano, Sarah Channels); Virginia (Katherine Baldwin); Ollie (Jessica Smith); Scraggly Santa (Christopher and Sean Herron); Mr. Church (Jacob Nugent); Charlotte (Brennan Costello); Mrs. Whiskers (Isabella Atanasova); Around the World Santas (Jessica Bobbett, Tracy Dowler, Helene Ferner, Sarah Fortais, Amanda Ponza, Kathryn Verzillo, Julianna Wong, and Ciara Zanoni).
