The Teaching Center Pet Project program is designed to provide an educational learning experience for West Genesee teachers. Competitive grants for one or more teachers are funded to design, develop and implement a project that supports creative classroom work. Projects should be based upon current research and must reflect the New York  State learning standards and the school district's Strategic Plan.

Guidelines

Teachers may use the Pet Project funded program under the following conditions:

  • There is a checklist of necessary steps to be followed by all applicants when submitting their application. A committee reviews applications being aware that all steps have been completed.
  • Teachers must submit proposals in a timely fashion. Requests for Pet Projects are distributed in early September for Fall projects and December for Spring projects. Missing an application deadline disqualifies a proposed project.

Pet Project Committee

A Pet Project Committee is established to review all Pet Project proposals. The Committee ranks all applications for possible funding. Most applications are funded provided they meet the criteria set forth in the application and funds are available.
