Academic Decathlon Team Will Compete at State Level

The Academic Decathlon was held at Westhill High School on January 21 with competitors from Cazenovia, Liverpool, Tully, Westhill, and West Genesee high schools.

The team from West Genesee High School came in second overall with a total of 21 medals. Tully High School came in first and Westhill High School came in third. Those top three teams will advance to the state competition at SUNY Brockport to be held on February 24-25.  more

Camillus Optimist Speech Contest

On January 25, eight students gave speeches around the theme, "What the World Gains from Optimism" to members of the Camillus Optimist Club.

The Optimists chose Greta Hahn from the high school and Grant Mathews from CMS to represent them at the next level of the 2017 Oratorical Contest that will be held in April in Albany, NY.

Earning second place at the club contest were Emily Schlenker from the high school and she will be an alternate for the girls at the next level.  more

Kindergarten Registration is Early this Year

Kindergarten Registration for the 2017-2018 school year will be held this year from January 3 to March 3 at the Central Registrar Office located at 300 Sanderson Drive, Camillus, NY 13031.

Prior to coming in to register, you will need to make an appointment by clicking the link on the Kindergarten Registration 2017-2018 web page or by calling the Central Registrar at 315-487-4683.

When registering, parents should bring: proof of immunizations, proof of age, and proof of residency. A physical examination is also required and a dental certificate is requested for entry into kindergarten.

These examinations should be done up to one year prior to the first day of school. Children who enter kindergarten this fall must be five years of age on or before December 1, 2017.

Mary Poppins! is Landing at the High School  

West Genesee High School students will present the musical Mary Poppins!, at the high school auditorium. Shows are Thursday, February 9 and Friday, February 10, at 7:00 p.m., with 2 shows Saturday, Februay 11, at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at or at the door. All seats are reserved and are $12. You can also call the Ticket Call Center at 1-800-514-3849, extension 4. Tickets can be purchased at the door. All seats are reserved. For more information and a list of the cast, click here.

WGMS Science Fair 

On January 26, WGMS students displayed Science Fair projects that explained the results of their research to their fellow students, judges, and families who came in the evening to view the exhibits.  

This year's fair had 69 students that made 40 projects. Student projects were entered in the category for Human Sensory Perception, Psychology, Health and Consumer Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics, and Engineering.

Registering for Spring Sports is Now Online!

The Athletics Department is excited to announce that they are now offering the convenience of online registration for athletic sports sign up and clearance through Family ID. 

The registration link will go live for input on February 6, 2017.

This program is replacing the current paper process. You will no longer need to submit paper work to the nurse or athletic office. Everything will be completed online. Click here for more information.
