West Genesee is One of the Best Communities for Music Education, Again!

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation  has announced the results of its sixteenth annual "Best Communities for Music Education" survey, which acknowledges schools and districts across the U.S. for their commitment and support of music education in schools.

This is the eleventh time West Genesee has been recognized for this honor, and eighth consecutive year.

Congratulations to Fine Arts Director Bill Davern and a great staff of teachers for this impressive program: Anthony Alvaro, Christine Astafan, Tracy Berner, Gregory Borsz, Leah Causer, Tracy Cheney, Marcia DeMartini, Kevin Dimmel, Deanna Fitzpatrick, Martha Grener, Emily Guarino, Christy Knowlton, Erin McConnell, William Mercer, Margaret Mercer, Andrew Perry, Andrea Scerbo, Donald Schuessler, Rosemarie Speich, and Michael Stachnik.  

West Genesee Jazz Welcomes Rich Perry to 48th Annual Swing-In

Swing-In 2016 will be at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 6 in the West Genesee High School Auditorium. 

Swing-In is an annual tradition of the West Genesee High School Fine Arts Department since 1968. 

Admission this year is free. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.  Plenty of free parking is available in the front and rear of the building.  

Kindergarten Registration Has Been Extended Through April 8

Kindergarten Registration for the 2016-2017 school year was held this year from February 1 to March 4 at the Central Registrar Office located at 300 Sanderson Drive, Camillus, NY 13031.

If you were unable to register during that time, please visit our website to set up an appointment through April 8, 2016. 

Prior to coming in to register, you will need to make an appointment by clicking here or by calling the Central Registrar at 315-487-4683.

Additional Days Off Because of Snow (or rather lack of....)

Superintendent, Dr. Christopher Brown, announced this week that if we have no additional emergency closing days our "give back" days will be Friday, June 24 and Friday, May 27. If we have an emergency closing between now and then, May 27 will be reinstated as a regular school day, followed by June 24 if we have a second emergency closing.

National Honor Society Inducts New Members

One hundred fifty-eight students from West Genesee High School were inducted into membership of the National Honor Society at the High School on March 21, 2016.

Budget Presentations are Scheduled

Superintendent Dr. Christopher Brown will be giving a visual presentation to explain the proposed 2016-2017 school budget at these PTA/PTO and public meetings:

April 18 - 7:00 p.m. at the High School Large Group Instruction (LGI) Room

May 4 - Budget Public Hearing - 7:00 p.m. at the High School Library
