Budget Passes a Margin of Over 85% - Thank you to Community!

West Genesee residents approved the 2017-2018 budget and bus propositions on May 16, 2017.

The $85,216,870 budget received 1,073 favorable votes and 186 votes in opposition. A second proposition to purchase district vehicles was approved 1,014 to 247.

Another proposition that would provide funding for two area libraries (Maxwell and Fairmount) was put to a vote. The proposition for Maxwell and Fairmount Libraries was approved with 979 votes in favor and 280 votes opposed

Board of Education Candidates are Elected

Elected to the Board of Education for three-year terms beginning in July, are incumbents Shawn J. Mitchell with 877 votes, James M. Soper with 927 votes, and Neil B. Widrick with 882 votes. Tonya D. Wilson received 632 votes.   

Teachers Honored with the 2017 NYS Senate "Teacher Excellence" Award  

West Genesee School District teachers Mary Philippone from CMS and Kelly Moser-Vogler from East Hill Elementary School were nominated by their peers and honored by Senator DeFrancisco as 2017 "Teachers of Excellence".

They received notification of this recognition in a letter from New York State Senator John DeFrancisco and were recognized in a ceremony held by the Senator at West Genesee High School on May 4. Congratulations on this great honor! For more information, click on MORE  

Kaleidoscope 42 Tickets are on Sale

The 42nd Annual Kaleidoscope concert will take place in the Mulroy Civic Center at OnCenter on Thursday evening, May 25.

Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the High School Main Office, Fine Arts Office, at all May HS Concerts, the War Memorial Box Office or on (search Kaleidoscope).  All seats are $10 and are general admission. more

WGHS Seniors Experience a Simulated DWI Crash

On Friday, May 12, 2017, a simulated car crash was presented at West Genesee High School by the Camillus Police Department, Fairmount Fire Department, Waves Ambulance, Buranich Funeral Home, Meyers Collision, the District Attorney and Medical Examiner's Office with students from the high school.   more
