Split Rock Honors our Veterans

On November 10, Split Rock Elementary School hosted their third Veterans Day Celebration. Students brought in artifacts such as pictures, uniforms and other mementos of loved ones that served in the military.

There were two special guest speakers for their Veterans Day ceremony. Bill Connolly, father of Mrs. Sauro, and Mark Burns of The American Legion, spoke to our staff and students. They also had grandparents and parents of the students that served as distinguished guests.

Students at Stonehedge Thank our Veterans

Stonehedge students paid tribute to our local veterans and active duty service men and women with a special ceremony on Tuesday, November 10, that featured the fifth grade choir singing a selection of patriotic songs.

Students in the primary grades worked together to write letters to the veterans and draw pictures describing what freedom means.

The hallway in front of the red gym was decorated with the drawings. Paper stars filled the office windows with names of veterans in our Stonehedge family.

WGMS Students Show Gratitude to our Veterans

At WGMS students had the opportunity to show gratitude to those that sacrifice so much for all of us; veterans and active military.

On November 3 students were able to ask questions and talk to veterans from various eras about their experiences while serving our country.

The students also wrote letters to active servicemen and women as part of Operation Gratitude.
