Mathematicians Advance to State Competition

Math Competition StudentsWest Genesee High School senior Kate Graziano and junior Philip MartinĀ  have advanced to compete in the New York State Math League Competition.

To qualify for the state meet students must have a cumulative score in the top 30 in the county. This score is comprised of points gained by solving math problems at four local competitions against Marcellus and Baldwinsville High Schools, and an All-County Onondaga Math League Meet that took place on Saturday, February 3.

The State competition is at SUNY Geneseo on March 17 and this is the first time students from West Genesee high school have made it to the state competition in over a decade.
