Dear Parents:
We have recently been informed that the Onondaga War Memorial is now not available for our commencement ceremony originally scheduled for June 19th, 2010, The War Memorial will now be hosting an outside convention instead which takes precedence over civic events, including graduation.
We have contacted a number of local venues as a possible alternative site (colleges, universities, OnCenter, Civic Center, Carrier Dome, Landmark Theater, an outdoor option, etc.). However, each facility involved either scheduling conflicts or restrictions on ticket availability.
Recently, we were recontacted by the Onondaga County War Memorial staff who has indicated that Sunday, June 13th, 2010 is available for our graduation ceremony. We believe this date is best for our Class of 2010 seniors as it will allow us to maintain our tradition of excellence regarding commencement by not having to limit tickets and by eliminating any logistical concerns associated with any of the alternative facilities. Due to the ceremony being before our local exams, students will receive blank diploma covers at graduation and then be issued their actual diplomas with the proper distinctions and designations at the completion of final exam week.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this and look forward to a very successful school year and commencement.
Yours in Education,
Dr. Christopher R. Brown Dr. Barry Copeland
