Announcing Advanced Placement Scholars

Fifty-two students and recent graduates of West Genesee High School have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by The College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations. Several levels of achievement are recognized based on the number of year-long courses and examinations (or their equivalent semester-long courses and examinations).

Twelve graduates qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these examinations. They are Abigail Fassinger, Shannon Flynn, Kathleen Glass, Victoria Humphrey, Jebediah Kopek, Kenzie Koster, Grant Mathews, Emily Naughton, Zoe Orr, Robert Patch, Noah Ruston, and Joshua Varkey.

Fourteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honors Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these examinations. Seniors who qualified are Chloe Hanousek, James Manard, Ewan Moran, Joshua Pierce,  and Samantha Sapia ; and graduates Julia Biggs, Margaret Clancy, Anita Edgar, Annalyse Kittell, Sophia Morphet, Liam O’Connor, James Tully, Heidi Walsh, and Tanner Young  also received this recognition.

Twenty-six students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Examinations. The AP Scholars are seniors Tyler Anastasio, Gianna Corbin, Sarah Fettig, Aidan Gartner-Baca, Jaden Mattimore, Olivia Mortas, Chris Moser, and Elsa Propper; along with graduates Aidan Braun, Sean Cipro, Brenna Dickey, Paul Diem, Brianna Drury, Aidan Fassinger, Katherine Ford, Timothy Heise, Cameron Hovater, Janaya Jones, Maggie Kaminski, Sara Kelly, Emily Kurz, Anthony Paini, Ian Palmieri, Elizabeth Sachar, Aidan Sperduti, and Eas Sureshkumar Nair.
