At the Board of Education meeting held on August 4, 2021 Susan Meskos was appointed as the new Principal at East Hill Elementary School. She replaces Lisa Craig who retired at the end of June.
Most recently from the Geneva City School District, Meskos has served as an elementary building leader for six years; four as Assistant Principal and the past two as Principal. Prior to that, her administrative work began in the Victor Central School District as an intern and also as the K-6 Instructional Mathematics Coach. She was also part of the Syracuse City School District in the role of Effective Instructional Practices Specialist. Her 17 years of classroom teaching spanned all elementary grade levels in the communities of Victor, Fayetteville-Manlius, and Syracuse City School Districts.
Susan’s educational background includes certification as a NYS School Building Leader, School District Leader, and Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grade 1-6. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature from SUNY Potsdam, a Master of Science in Education from Le Moyne College, and a Certificate of Advanced Study, Educational Administration from SUNY Oswego.
Superintendent David C. Bills shares, “Across the many communities, Susan has been highly regarded as a strong leader, educator, and active community member. Her experience and training are evident in her work and comes through in the many conversations across the past weeks. We will begin a transition plan from her current responsibilities and are thrilled she is joining us at West Genesee!”
On a personal note, Meskos lives in the Onondaga Hill area with her husband David. Together they have five adult sons: Sam, Max, Brandon, Bradley (who all live in the Rochester area), and Evan (who is serving in the Air Force, currently stationed in Germany). She loves to cook, travel, and spend time with her family, friends, and dog, Louie.
