On June 2, 2021 Deborah Ratcliff was appointed by the Board of Education as the new Assistant Principal at Stonehedge Elementary School with an official start date to be determined.
Ratcliff is currently the Director of PTECH in the Auburn Enlarged City School District, and where the previous two years she was the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development. This followed her administrative start as an Assistant Principal/Administrative Intern at Genesee Elementary School within that school district. Her extended school year work in K-12 Special Education and Math Instructional Coach were part of service to the Liverpool CSD where she had been a Grade-6 classroom teacher for 17 years.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Science Education, Literacy from SUNY Cortland, and a Certificate of Advanced Study from SUNY Oswego. Her certification areas include NYS Elementary Education (PreK-6), NYS School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL).
Superintendent David C. Bills shares, “Through an extensive interview process, Deborah showed her skill set relative to instruction, curriculum, and professional development along with a conviction of excellence and passion for children that is infectious during interactions. She will be a strong addition to West Genesee and a wonderful match for Stonehedge Elementary School.”
On a personal note, she was born in Brooklyn, raised in Brentwood, NY but remained in CNY after college graduation. She has lived in the West Genesee School District with her 22 year old daughter, Maddy, a young woman with Autism. She is an avid reader, loves to travel overseas and stateside (has visited countries like Norway, Ireland, England and France), and enjoys time with friends who have become family.
Welcome to the District!
