Organization of the Board

Standing Committees

The Board will generally function as a committee-of-the-whole. The Board may also establish and approve standing committees for each school year. Appointments to the established standing committees will be made by the president after each member has had an opportunity to express their preferences.

The President of the Board of Education will act as an ex-officio member of each standing committee. A district level administrator will be assigned to each standing committee by the Board president.

Standing committees will have no more than three Board members.

The Board President should fill vacancies at the next regularly scheduled board meeting after the vacancy becomes effective.
