School Board Meetings

Special Meetings

Special Meetings may be called by any member of the Board, through the President of the Board of Education, to attend to such special matters as are specifically stated in the terms of the announcement. All members of the Board of Education will be notified orally or by mail at least twenty-four hours prior to the special meetings. Notification will include the items to be considered. Reasonable efforts will be considered sufficient in
providing notice to all Board members. Notice to the public of special meetings must also be given to the extent practicable through the news media or by posting.

In the event that any special meeting is called without the twenty-four hour notice, all Board members must sign a statement waiving the twenty-four notice. Such statement will be included in the official minutes of that meeting. Failure to do so may result in the invalidating of any action taken at the meeting.
