The Zone Optimist Oratorical Contest was held on March 9, 2023 with the theme of “Discovering the Optimism within Me”. The first place winner is West Genesee High School senior Lia Rice. On March 3, 2023 West Genesee High School hosted this year’s state competition for the Academic Decathlon. The five competing teams were West Genesee, Westhill, Jamesville-DeWitt, Tully, and Cazenovia. Westhill placed first and will go on to compete at the Nationals in Texas.
