CMS Letter from Principal: Back-to-School Info

Good afternoon CMS Families,

September 7 is fast approaching. Here are a few reminders and updates regarding the beginning of our school year.

CMS School Hours:

7:30 AM – 2:05 PM

Student Drop Off:

Students will be let off the bus at 7:25 AM and will enter the building using entrance 3. Students getting breakfast will need to go to the cafeteria to purchase breakfast and bring it to homeroom.

Students not taking the bus can be dropped off at 7:15 AM. Students will enter the building using entrance 3 and report directly to the cafeteria until dismissed at 7:25 AM.  Students who arrive early may purchase breakfast and eat in the cafeteria.

Homeroom starts at 7:30 AM

Breakfast:

Breakfast will be “grab and go” Students taking the bus can purchase breakfast and bring it to their homeroom to eat. Students are expected to clean up after themselves.  Students are not allowed to eat in the hallways. The cost of breakfast is $2.00

Reminder to Families Dropping And Picking Students Up:

Please do not park in the parking lot when dropping off and picking up your student.  During pick up and drop off cars should line up next to the sidewalk in the parking lot. We want to ensure everyone’s safety.

Staff will be arriving at 7:20 AM during drop off time. Our parking lot is very busy. Please drive cautiously.

Students will be dismissed for buses at 2:05 PM. Students being picked up will be dismissed after the buses leave at approximately 2:15 PM.

Student Schedules:

Schedules will be ready to view tomorrow, Wednesday, August, 31 at 3:00 PM.  Students will receive a paper copy on the first day of school in homeroom.

NYS Department of Education Vaccination Requirements:

Please note: There is a 14-day window (from the 1st day of school) to complete ALL vaccination requirements or the student will be excluded from school until all vaccination requirements have been met. Proof of vaccination is due to the health office by September 27.

Seventh Grade: Meningococcal Vaccine – Students entering the 7th grade must have 1 dose of the Meningococcal vaccine.

Dropping off Medication to the health office:

Nurse Sue Shanahan will begin accepting student medication on September, 7.  Medication can be dropped off at the health office window located next to the main entrance of CMS.

CMS NEWSIES MUSICAL:

Any student who missed the opportunity to audition for the musical in June or is new to CMS may audition on Monday, September 12th from 2:15-3:15 P.M. There will be audition packets available and a sign-up outside the Chorus Room (Rm. 123) the first week of school.  Please contact Mr. Schuessler with any questions.

Wildcat Friday:

Our first pep rally of the school year will be at the end of the school day on Friday, September, 9.  Students, show your Wildcat Spirit and wear blue and gold.
