Camillus Middle School is proud to present its 2018 musical production of The Music Man. Meredith Wilson’s six-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy, which just celebrated it’s 60th anniversary, has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.
The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill (Matthew Craybas), as he cons the people of River City, Iowa. They believe they are buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize; this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a bass drum from a pipe organ!
Marcellus Washburn (Ewan Moran) acts as accomplice to his scheme, while Mayor Shinn (Holden Leonard) and the Barbershop School Board (Sean Alvaro, Angelo Procopio, Charles Reider, & Nicolo Benenati) try to figure out his intentions. Mrs. Shinn (Margaret Mello) and the Pick-a-Little Ladies (Madeleine Barstow, Maddie Campbell, Olivia Frizzi, Katie Weyant) become smitten with Professor Hill after his spell binding 76 Trombones, while Mrs. Paroo (Ella Kemp) and Winthrop (Jason Szakas) also believe the story about “Gary Indiana” and the dream of a boy’s band. Hill’s plan to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian (Sophia Patriarco), the skeptical librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. Our tremendously talented ensemble and crew round out what is to be a fantastic show you won’t want to miss!
