The Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board (CNY RPDB) has partnered with its member counties (Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego) to identify where our neighbors lack reliable access to broadband internet. And they are looking to you to make a difference.
To help your community all you must do is complete a quick and confidential survey about internet access and affordability at: https://www.cnyinternet.com/onondaga-county-home. You can take the survey from any computer or mobile device with internet access.
If you know of someone who does not have access to a computer or a reliable internet connection, please ask them to contact CNY RPDB at (315) 412-5966 for assistance, and they can mail them a survey. (Information about this survey will also be included in the upcoming hardcopy Spring/Summer Communicator going to all homes in the community.)
Please note the confidential information collected from this survey will be used to identify areas in the region most in need of improved internet access service. The information will also provide a basis for developing a plan that will be used to improve broadband internet access in the region. The plan will be completed by October 2021.
The more survey responses we receive, the better positioned Central New York will be to address this critical community issue in the months ahead.
Thank you for your help with this initiative. Please feel free to contact the CNY RPDB at (315) 412-5966 if you have any questions about the survey.
The community survey will take place over the next three months from May 1, 2021 through July 31, 2021. Please do not wait – have your voice heard today.
