Letter from Superintendent Bills about Person Testing Positive for COVID19

As you may have heard, the Onondaga County Department of Health contacted the District regarding a person who tested positive for COVID 19. The person is part of the Camillus Middle School. Anyone known to have a higher likelihood of direct contact has received personal communication. We are sending this to you to keep you informed.

Per the OCDOH, individuals in contact were informed that the incubation period of this case will conclude on Monday, March 30, 2020 as the last potential school contact with the person was Monday, March 16, 2020.

We are told there will be a press release later this afternoon. To repeat, the individual’s name and specific personally identifiable information will not be released. We hold ourselves to that same standard. We are providing you with this update solely for informational purposes.

As a reminder, proper hand hygiene and social distancing parameters as described by local, NYS, and national sources should continue to be followed. Further, anyone exhibiting symptoms should contact their primary care physician for guidance.
