RE: NYS COVID Test Availability and Distribution (update)
Dear Parents/Guardians/Caregivers,
Per recent communication, the COVID-19 test kits (iHealth Antigen Rapid Test) referenced by Governor Kathy Hochul arrived and many were distributed yesterday at WGHS during a 10am-2pm window of time. Thank you to all of the volunteers and participants who moved 2,870 test kits in a relatively short period of time. Despite the cold and windy elements, there was an energy from everyone that is unique to Wildcats!
Due to the uncertain timing of the test arrival there was very short notice for yesterday’s pick-up opportunity. Understandably, there were those who simply were not available to participate. If you were unable to attend and would like a test kit (1 per student only), please contact (one of) your child(ren)’s school(s) to make arrangements for pick-up. Depending on the ability to move these through individual contacts, we will consider a window of time later in the week.
As a reminder, the District is simply a conduit for distribution. We will not be tracking or reporting results. We ask that families who utilize the kits and have a child with a positive test result report the positive case to the Onondaga County Health Department and work with the District to follow all isolation and quarantine requirements. Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
David C. Bills
