Dear Onondaga Road Families:
This morning, the Camillus Police Department contacted me and the District Office regarding a matter in the area. The information was that police were looking for a stolen vehicle that was at large in the Geddes area.
In an abundance of caution, and with guidance from the police and Superintendent David Bills, we quickly decided it would be safest to put our school on “Lock Out.” This means our students would stay safely inside and we would stop visitors from entering until the situation in the surrounding neighborhood was resolved. Our School Resource Officer came to our building, again as a proactive measure of safety, and Camillus police were visible in the area as well.
Early this afternoon we received word that the situation was resolved. Our school was not involved in any way with the incident. The entire procedure lasted approximately two hours, and there were typical routines within classrooms and the building during that time.
This letter is meant to provide you with accurate information. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Jeannette Clark
