On December 16, 2020, Christine DeMass was appointed by the Board of Education to the position of Assistant Superintendent for Management Services starting in mid-February 2021. She fills the position left vacant by Paul Pelton’s retirement after his many years of service at West Genesee.
She is currently the Skaneateles Central School District Assistant Superintendent for Business Operations where she has been serving students and staff for the past five years. Prior to that time, she held a position in financial services at BNY Mellon.
She currently serves as President of the Central New York Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) as an advocate for schools and a model for collaboration.
DeMass holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in School District Business Leader (SDBL) from SUNY Cortland, a Master of Business Administration from Le Moyne College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Justice and Psychology from SUNY Oswego.
On a personal note, she comes from a family of educators. Her parents are retired teachers, and her husband is a social studies teacher. DeMass’s two children, tenth grader Max and eighth grader Gwenyth, are students in the District. She likes to read fiction books and on the weekends she enjoys running.
