New Executive Principal Appointed at West Genesee High School

Headshot of Wayne Ackles for ArticleOn July 24, 2019, Wayne Ackles was appointed by the Board of Education to the position of Executive Principal at West Genesee High School starting August 26, 2019.

He is a proven administrator and has experiences with students at both the middle and high school levels.

Currently he is the Secondary Principal at Honeoye Central School District for students in grades 6-12. Prior to that he was an Assistant Principal at Fairport High School, and before that he was a Principal for the Monroe BOCES #1 Cooperative Summer School.

Before entering administration he was a Social Studies teacher who taught a variety of courses from the college to the local level at Fairport High School and Honeoye Central School District. He also taught an Economics course at the BOCES 1 Summer School for accelerated seniors.

Ackles earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, teaching certification, and Masters of Science in Education from SUNY Geneseo. His Certificate of Advanced Studies was earned at SUNY Brockport.

When asked how he feels about joining our District and taking on the position of Executive Principal, he shared, “I am excited to join the West Genesee family and its tradition of excellence. I look forward to working with students, staff, and parents to make our school the best school it can be. I look forward to the start of the school year!”
