New School Transportation Director is Announced

Headshot of Debbie PriceOn August 3, 2022 Debbie Price was appointed by the Board of Education to the position of School Transportation Director.

She has over 23 years of experience in transportation services across districts and organizations. She has served the communities of Liverpool Central School District, New York Mills Union Free School District,  and the Bernie Bus Service, Inc. Her past roles as bus driver, dispatcher, Head Dispatcher, Assistant Director of Transportation, and most recently Assistant Transportation Supervisor at West Genesee have provided her valuable experiences to benefit our community.

James Dark will remain the Transportation Supervisor as his role shifts to support the department and the many facets of the daily operations. There will be some adjustments of dispatcher responsibilities to maximize communication with the many components within each route and run that travel through our District each day.

The department will soon include additional clerical support. As part of the ongoing needs to efficiently serve our students and community, an Account Clerk I role has been created that will supplement the team’s efforts and increase information flow and communication.

Superintendent David C. Bills shared, “This reconfiguration was developed with staff and through analysis of department needs. It will support our current work and is developed for the future operational strength and success of our transportation department. Thank you Debbie, James, and everyone involved in this important transition.”

On a personal note, Debbie is married with three children and four, soon to be five, grandchildren. If you are ever on the Seneca River or Oneida Lake you may see her relaxing in the sun on her party barge. Her favorite quote is, “If you can remain calm, while all around you is chaos…then you must be a BUS DRIVER!”
