On May 8, Amanda Simmons was appointed by the Board of Education as the new Stonehedge Elementary School Blue Team Principal and will start on June 25. She replaces Lori Keevil who will retire on June 30 after 25 years with the District.
Simmons comes to us from Genesee Elementary School in the Auburn Enlarged City School District, and she is currently their Principal. Prior to that she was an Administrative Intern at Solvay Elementary School. She was previously the Literacy Coordinator and taught fourth and fifth grade in the Solvay School District, and she also taught fifth grade at St. Lucy’s Academy in Syracuse.
Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Florida Southern College. She earned her Master of Science in Literacy Education (Birth-6) and her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership from from SUNY Oswego.
