West Genesee High School seniors Olivia Frizzi and James Manard have been selected to to perform in All-National ensembles that are sponsored by the Reston, VA-based National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
Frizzi will perform in the Mixed Choir as a second soprano, and Manard will be playing the Euphonium in the Concert Band.
This is a great honor as only fifty-five (55) students from school music programs across the NYS have been selected. They are among approximately five hundred fifty (550) of the best student musicians in the United States.
Students will learn from and rehearse with internationally-renowned conductors during a three-day festival at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland beginning November 3, 2022 before performing in concert on November 6, 2022. Students were selected to either Mixed Chorus, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble or Symphony Orchestra based on eligibility requirements set by NYSSMA. This includes submission of an audition video, selection to and participation in the 2021 All State Conference held in Rochester, and the highest score of 100 on their adjudicated solo last spring.
