West Genesee High School students participated in the 2021-2022 Optimist International Essay Contest sponsored by our local Camillus Optimist Club. “How Does An Optimistic Mindset Change My Tomorrow” was the topic this year.
Zoe Maupin placed first and her essay will be submitted to the next level to compete at the District Level.
The remaining students who will be receiving local recognition from the Camillus Optimist Club are in the order in which they placed: Nathan Smith (second); Joseph Pelin (third); and Zoey Slater (fourth).
The Essay Contest is sponsored by Optimist International to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. Camillus Optimist’s Club Essay Coordinator, Chris Jones shared, “Congratulations to all who took the time and effort.” Thank you to him and the Camillus Optimists for all that they do for our community!
