Dear Stonehedge Families,
It's been a short, but amazing week here at Stonehedge. The students were so excited to enjoy the snow at recess earlier this week. It is truly a joy to behold. And, I am so impressed by the Kindergarten teachers who get the entire class dressed in snowpants, boots, etc! It is also a beautiful sight. :)
Last Friday, Stonehedge welcomed our Veterans for a Veterans Day Celebration. What a special time for our Stonehedge Community. Our 3rd Graders sang several patriotic songs, Taps was played by WGHS student, Ethan Gage, and our Music Teachers, Mrs. DeMartini and Mrs. Causer led our students. Thank you to those teachers, staff members and families that made such a special day possible.
Below, you'll see our family Climate Survey attached. This information is very helpful to us as we work together to support our students and families. It only takes 8-10 minutes to complete. We would very much appreciate you time in doing so.
I say this often, it is such an amazing gift to lead Stonehedge. I am so grateful.
Enjoy your weekend.

Dear Stonehedge Families,
What a wonderful busy few weeks at Stonehedge! Our Halloween parade was a highlight for all the students to showcase their wonderful creative costumes. Safety Patrol is in full swing and our students are earning many Wildcat Wows each week. Take a look at below to see Stonehedge in action.

Dear Stonehedge Families,
Greetings from Stonehedge! I hope you are enjoying these fine fall days. The students certainly have been during recess. Which reminds me... we'll go outside as much as possible. Be sure to send a light jacket and sneakers for recess and PE class.
I hope you enjoy this post. It has a ton of information for our upcoming events and a review of what the students have been doing these past two weeks.
Each week at Stonehedge, we celebrate one another with "Shout Outs" over the announcements... I wanted to do a bit of a spin on that and take the opportunity to give a "Shout Out" to our families in car pick up! You probably have noticed some new and additional signage to assist our dismissal process. Shout out to those families who are helping us to be safe and efficient. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Enjoy the week. I hope to see you at Pumpkinhedge on Friday.

Dear Stonehedge Families,
We are officially in full swing and it’s been wonderful to see our students thriving in their routines and engaging with the curriculum. Classrooms are buzzing with learning, friendships are blossoming, and we are so proud of the growth we’ve seen in just a few short weeks.
As we continue to keep things running smoothly, I want to take a moment to review our car dismissal procedures to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal:
Please stay in your vehicle during pick-up.
Students should unload from the passenger side only for their safety.
Follow staff directions and pull forward as far as possible to keep traffic flowing.
Arrive no earlier than 2:45 PM for afternoon pick-up—this helps us keep our campus safe and allows WGIS to dismiss prior to our dismissal.
Your cooperation and support in following these procedures are greatly appreciated. It makes a big difference in creating a calm and safe environment for our students.
Notice the update below regarding our Indoor Halloween Parade later this month.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We’re looking forward to another great week of learning and growth!

Dear Stonehedge Families,
We’ve just wrapped up our third week of the school year, and I want to take a moment to thank all of our families for the support you’ve shown as we’ve gotten off to such a strong start. The excitement and energy in the building each day has been wonderful, and it’s clear that our students are already settling into the rhythms of learning.
Across classrooms, students have been building strong routines and practicing what it means to work together as a classroom and school. It’s been inspiring to watch them encourage one another, share ideas, and create a sense of community. (As evidence, check out all of our Wildcat WOW Raffle winners pictured below.)
This month, our students have also been talking about growth mindset—the idea that we can keep learning and improving by embracing challenges—and setting personal goals for the weeks and months ahead. These conversations help lay the foundation for a year of perseverance, curiosity, and growth.
Stonehedge is truly a remarkable place to grow and learn.

Dear Stonehedge Families,
Thank you for a fantastic start to our 2025-2026 School Year. The students returned with such excitement and enthusiasm. These past few days have included many get to know you activities in our classrooms and lesson teaching our Stonehedge School Wide Expectations- Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe. Please consider talking to your child about what those expectations look like throughout the different school settings. Some conversation starting questions might be, "How do you responsibility in the cafeteria?" or "What does it look like when everyone is being safe in the hallway?"
Speaking of being safe.. overall, our afternoon dismissal is off to a great start. We appreciate your support and patience with both car pick up and transportation. (We'll get a bit quicker each day for a few more days.) For the safety of all students, I'd like to reiterate a few reminders for car dismissal. If at all possible, students should enter and exit your vehicle from the passenger side. If students are able to enter cars independently, adults should remain in the car. Drivers will pull all the way forward (no more dumpsters in the way!) and be prepared to move forward until the student comes out. Finally, please remain in the car pick-up line rather than parking at the District Office or WGIS and walking over to pick-up students. We truly appreciate the effort on everyone's part to maintain the safety of our students.
I am so excited to welcome our Stonehedge Grown Ups to Curriculum Night Tomorrow! This is a night dedicated to the adults, so that you may meet the teacher, learn about our curriculum and hear about the upcoming school year! The night will run from 6-7pm. We have staggered the teachers' presentations in an attempt to allow adults to hear presentations from multiple teachers in one night. K-1st Teachers will present from 6-6:25pm and 2nd - 4th Teachers will present from 6:35-7pm. This will allow a few minutes to transition to another room, if necessary. All classrooms will be open from 6-7 pm. I understand this is not perfect and some parents/guardians will have pick and choose for the presentation portion of the evening. I do hope you'll find the evening informative. Please reach out to your child's teacher with specific questions.
In the coming weeks, we will practice our emergency drills, this includes evacuation and lockdown drills. Our teachers do an excellent job supporting and guiding students through these drills, ensuring everyone feels prepared and comfortable. Please consider discussing these safety procedures with your child at home.
In closing, I wanted to take a moment to express how truly grateful and honored I am to serve as your principal. Every year, as start the school year, I have a moment that catches my breath and I am filled me with such love and happiness. Your children and your family bring me joy everyday. I know everyone does not get to experience that same level of fulfillment at work, and I am blessed with joy each day. Thank you for supporting me and our entire Stonehedge school community.
Amanda
