On June 4, 2025 Jasmine Mathis was appointed by the Board of Education to the position of Principal at Camillus Middle School. Her start date will be on or about July 1, 2025.
Mathis has served as an Assistant Principal at West Genesee High School since March 2024. Prior to coming to the District she was the Dean of School of the Citizenship & Science Academy of Rochester. She has been with Science Academy of NY Charters Schools (SANY) for eight years and previously served as a teacher in the Knox County School District. She also worked as a youth and community advocate for more than ten years. Mathis recently completed the READY Moonshot School Design Fellowship, where she focused on school design that advances academic excellence, equity, and elevates student voice.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master of Education in Special Education, a Master of Education in Educational Administration, and she is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership. She won an Exceptional Educator Award in 2015 at Knox County Schools.

She is a fierce advocate for all and passionate about students’ success in and out of the classroom. On a personal note Mathis shares that she is an avid reader, sings in the praise team at church, and enjoys spending time with her family.
