Welcome, Class of 2030, to West Genesee High School!

Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, and Students of the Class of 2030 are cordially invited to attend Freshman and New Student Orientation on Tuesday, August 25, at 6:30 PM. Events will begin in the West Genesee High School Auditorium.

Course schedules and locker assignments will be made available on SchoolTool on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 8:00 AM. During orientation, you will meet the high school administrators, counselors, members of multiple high school clubs, and the WGHS Student Council. During our presentation, we will be discussing a variety of topics often faced by high school students, some of which includes more mature content. Please keep this in mind if you are choosing to bring younger siblings to orientation.

Please see below for 9th-grade counselor assignments by student last name:

  • Ms. Buckman (A-Chen)

  • Mrs. Pickup (Chep-Fud)

  • Mrs. Dunn (Ful-Kir)

  • Ms. Secor (Kis-Or)

  • Mrs. Navarra (Os-Sm)

  • Mrs. Callaghan (Sn-Z)

After our presentation in the auditorium, the high school will be open for our incoming freshmen and new students to practice opening their lockers and familiarize themselves with their class schedule. It is important that all students can access their lockers in order to store their cell phones during the school day. In addition, students will have the opportunity to learn more about our building clubs and student groups at tables in the Upper Gym. There will be upperclassmen and staff stationed throughout the school to assist you as you navigate the building.

Entering high school is a big transition, socially and academically. Please take advantage of this opportunity to visit the high school. We strongly encourage you to attend orientation with your student and review the enclosed materials together.

The West Genesee High School faculty and staff look forward to beginning a new year with the Class of 2030. Please visit the WGHS webpage to access the summer reading and supply lists. If you have any questions, please email me at tklefbeck@westgenesee.org or call the Main Office at 315-487-4601.

Sincerely,

Tracy Klefbeck
