ST/WGIS EARLY DISMISSAL TODAY DUE TO POWER OUTAGE
West Genesee CSD
NOV 28, 2023
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Stonehedge Elementary and West Genesee Intermediate School students will be dismissed early today due to a power outage. There has been an issue with our main power feed that impacts Stonehedge and the District Office and the heat supply to all three buildings.
National Grid is responding, but the issue will not be rectified before the end of the day. Unfortunately, without that power supply and without heat, we are not able to keep students in the buildings. Lunch cannot occur at Stonehedge for students prior to 11:15 a.m. However, with generator power we are able to feed students at West Genesee Intermediate School before they are released.
Early dismissal will begin at 11:15 a.m. today at Stonehedge Elementary for grades K-4. Pre-Kindergarten students at Stonehedge Elementary (only) should be picked up at 12:00 p.m.
BASCOL students will also be dismissed early. NO BASCOL at Stonehedge today. BASCOL parents should contact the Stonehedge and WGIS offices to let them know how their student will get home.
West Genesee Intermediate students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
Pre-Kindergarten students at Learn As You Grow and School of the Holy Family will continue their regular session.
If your child is normally picked up, please plan to pick them up at the respective time for their building. Buses will depart around those times as well.
We plan to put students on their regularly scheduled buses unless we hear otherwise from you that you will pick up your child. If you typically transport your child, we will expect them to be picked up.
Our apologies for the unanticipated issue and please know that the safety of children is our top priority.
