West Genesee Intermediate School Bands participated in the NYSSMA Major Organization Festival hosted at Mexico Middle School on April 17 and April 18, 2024.
The 5th grade band performed as a Level I ensemble and received a GOLD rating.
The 6th grade band performed as a Level II ensemble and received a SILVER rating.
NYSSMA Major Organization Festivals are opportunities for ensembles (band, chorus, orchestra, or jazz ensemble) to perform for two specially trained adjudicators.
Ensembles can compete at six different levels with music designated by the NYSSMA Manual. Each ensemble is given taped and written comments on their performance, and awarded a rating such as Gold, Silver, or Bronze.
