Dear CMS Families,

I hope you and your families enjoyed the long weekend and had a meaningful Veterans Day as we paused to honor those who have served our country. This past week was certainly a unique one, with Veterans Day, a Professional Development Superintendent’s Day for staff, and even our first snowfall of the season! I know our teachers were grateful that the snow arrived while students were home safe and able to enjoy it with you.

During our Professional Development Day, teachers engaged in rich and meaningful learning experiences focused on strengthening instruction and collaboration. We are excited to bring this learning back into classrooms as we continue to support every student’s growth.

Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. We’re looking forward to another productive and engaging week of teaching and learning ahead!

Wishing you a great week ahead, and as always, Be Safe, Responsible, Be Respectful, Be king, but most importantly, Be Better Together. It's a great day to be a Wildcat!

Warm regards,
Mrs. Mathis

Dear CMS Families,

It’s been a wonderful week of learning and engagement at Camillus Middle School. Our students have been focused in the classroom, showing curiosity and enthusiasm as we move deeper into the fall semester. We’re proud of the positive energy and effort they continue to bring each day.

Book Fair Success
Thank you to everyone who visited and supported our Book Fair this week. It was great to see students excited about reading and discovering new books to take home. Your participation helps us keep our library collection fresh and engaging for all students.

Halloween Fun
This week’s Halloween activities brought plenty of smiles and school spirit. Our costume contest was a big hit, with so many creative and fun entries from students and staff alike. We love celebrating together and creating memories that strengthen our school community.

New Electronic Hall Pass System Begins Monday, November 3
Beginning Monday, Camillus Middle School will launch SmartPass, our new electronic hall pass system. This tool helps us better monitor hallway use, reduce interruptions to learning, and ensure students are where they need to be throughout the day. Staff has reviewed the system with students today and will go over it again on Monday.

Thank you for your continued partnership in making Camillus Middle School a safe, engaging, and connected place for all students. We wish you a relaxing weekend and look forward to another great week ahead.

Warm regards,

Joe Curtin
