Greetings CMS Families,

Fall is officially here! 🍂 The leaves are beginning to turn, football season is in full swing, and our scholars are settling beautifully into the school year. We are especially excited to begin band lessons next week. Our students have been doing incredible work, and we look forward to seeing their skills grow through small-group music instruction.

A heartfelt thank you to all who attended Curriculum Night. It was truly wonderful to see so many families in the building and to experience the home-school partnership in action. We loved the energy as everyone connected with teachers, explored classrooms, and even got a few extra steps in while walking through the halls!

Looking ahead, we will be practicing evacuation drills next week. The safety of our students is always a top priority, and we appreciate your continued partnership as we work together to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

As always, be safe, be responsible, be respectful, be kind, and most importantly, be Better Together.

It’s a great day to be a Wildcat!

Warm regards,
Mrs. Mathis

It has been another wonderful week here at Camillus Middle School as our students and staff continue settling into their routines. The energy in our hallways is full of curiosity, determination, and Wildcat pride, and we are so proud of the hard work happening across our classrooms each day.

As your scholars dive deeper into their learning, we encourage you to:

  • Check Google Classroom

regularly to see what your child is working on.

  • Talk with your child about their learning,

ask them to share their projects, assignments, and goals.

  • Check SchoolTool frequently

to stay updated on their progress and celebrate their successes.

We also want to take a moment to recognize our students for doing a wonderful job following our cell phone policy. Phones must be kept secured in lockers during the school day, and our students have truly risen to the expectation, helping to create a focused and distraction-free learning environment.

In addition, we will be practicing evacuation drills this week as part of our ongoing commitment to safety. These practice drills help ensure that students and staff are prepared to respond calmly and effectively in the event of an emergency.

I also want to sincerely thank each of you for participating in our CMS PTO Krispy Kreme Fundraiser! Our goal was to sell 200 boxes, and with your incredible support, we exceeded that goal! Your generosity directly supports enriching opportunities for our students, and we are so grateful for this amazing community.

Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome you to Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 6:00–7:30 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and learn more about the engaging experiences they will have this school year.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. As always, Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Kind, and most importantly, Be Better Together! 🐾

Warm Regards,

Dear CMS Families,

What an incredible start to the school year! In just three short days, the halls of Camillus Middle School have been filled with energy, laughter, and the unmistakable buzz of students eager to begin a new chapter. From opening lockers to reconnecting with old friends and meeting new faces, we’ve jumped right into a year filled with possibility. Our teachers have worked hard to set the tone for strong classroom communities, and it’s been a joy to see students settling into routines, exploring new classes, and showing excitement for what’s ahead.

We also want to take a moment to commend our students for doing a fantastic job following the CMS cellphone policy. Their cooperation and maturity have created a focused and respectful learning environment that allows everyone to stay present and engaged. As we continue the year, we are focusing on establishing positive habits that help build a strong foundation for success. This includes being organized, asking questions, showing up ready to learn, and leading with kindness. Each day we are reinforcing our CMS community norms: Be Safe. Be Responsible. Be Respectful. Be Kind.

Our theme, “Better Together,” reflects our belief that students, families, and staff make the greatest impact when we work in partnership. Your support during these first few days has already made a difference, and we are so grateful to have you as part of the CMS community. Thank you for your continued encouragement and engagement. We’re off to a strong start, and we are excited for all that lies ahead. To learn more about what's happening at CMS please view our newsletter here.
