Message From Onondaga Road School Principal-December 19, 2025
Dear Onondaga Road families,
As we approach the holiday break, I want to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude for our incredible school community. We are truly fortunate to be surrounded by families who care deeply for one another. Thank you for your generosity and support of our Holiday Help program. Because of your kindness, we were able to support and brighten the holidays for several families in our community.
Over the past few weeks, our school has been celebrating the season with a theme of light, a symbol that is present in many cultural and religious traditions around the world. Through classroom discussions and Library activities, students learned how light represents hope, kindness, and togetherness in different celebrations.
Our buddy classes spent together creating beautiful lanterns, that were supplied by our amazing PTA. These meaningful moments allowed older and younger students to connect and learn from one another. Today, we gathered as a school community for a special assembly, where students proudly brought their lanterns, listened to a story, and shared songs that reflected our theme. It was wonderful to come together as a building today.
As we head into the holiday break, I hope you are able to enjoy time with loved ones, rest, and recharge. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a relaxing break.
Respectfully,
Michelle Collier

Dear Onondaga Road families,
We’ve had a wonderful week here at school, and I am so proud of how quickly our students settled back into their routines after Thanksgiving Break. Their positive energy and readiness to learn have really set the tone for a strong start to this stretch before the holidays.
This week’s Grade 3 and 4 Chorus Concert was truly special. The students sang beautifully and demonstrated great teamwork and confidence on stage. We are so appreciative of Mrs. Guifre and Mr. Reardon for their enthusiasm, preparation, and guidance. Their dedication to helping our students grow as musicians was clear in every song performed.
Our Grade 3 students also had the exciting opportunity to watch Alice in Wonderland, presented by the Rev Theatre and Company. Seeing a story they have read come to life on stage was a fantastic learning experience. It sparked great conversations and inspired many students to think more deeply about characters, plot, and how stories can be told in different ways.
Today was also School Spirit Day and Principal Picks, which made the day feel extra special. I had the pleasure of recognizing several students who earned a Wildcat Wow this month for demonstrating positive behavior. We celebrated with some extra playtime together in the gym, and it was a joy to spend that time with them.
In addition, Officer Charlie completed training for a new group of Fourth Grade Safety Patrol members. We are incredibly proud of these students. They take their leadership roles seriously and are already showing responsibility and kindness as they help keep our hallways and arrival/dismissal routines safe and smooth.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to more exciting learning, events, and celebrations in the weeks ahead!
Respectfully,
Michelle Collier
