Message from Split Rock Elementary School Principal-November 25, 2025
As we head into the Thanksgiving break, I want to take a moment to extend my sincere appreciation to our students, staff and families. This is certainly a well-deserved break for everyone. Over the past three months, Split Rock has accomplished and experienced so much, and I am incredibly proud of the amazing work happening throughout our building. There is still much more ahead, and I look forward to all we will continue to achieve together.
Over the next few days, I hope you find time to rest, enjoy family and friends, and reflect on all we have to be thankful for. If possible, I kindly ask families to take a few minutes during the break to complete the 2025–2026 Climate Survey. Hearing from you plays a vital role in how we continue to shape our work to best support our Wildcats and their families. Please see the information below.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, December 1.
BE AWESOME!

The past two weeks have been filled with wonderful moments here at Split Rock! We had a fantastic Veterans Day celebration where our students and staff came together to honor and recognize the brave men and women who have served our country. It was truly a memorable experience for everyone involved. Please take a look below to see some of the special highlights and photos captured throughout the celebration.
As the weather continues to change, we want to remind everyone to make sure students come to school with the proper attire for outdoor activities. Please ensure your child has a warm coat, hat, gloves, and appropriate footwear each day so they can comfortably enjoy recess and physical education outside. We value the time our students spend outdoors for fresh air, movement, and play, and we want all students to have the opportunity to participate safely and comfortably.
As we look ahead to the next two weeks and our upcoming Thanksgiving Break, we are also preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences. These meetings are an important opportunity to strengthen the connection between home and school, while learning more about your child’s academic progress, social development, and overall well-being. If you have already scheduled your conference, please double-check the date and time so you’re ready. If you haven’t yet scheduled a conference, please reach out to your child’s teacher as soon as possible to do so. We truly value this partnership and the opportunity to work together to support each student’s growth.
BE AWESOME!

WOW! What a busy and eventful past two weeks! It might actually be easier to list what didn’t happen at “The Rock!” These moments truly highlight why Split Rock ROCKS!
We kicked things off with a fantastic turnout at our Fall Celebration Dance. A huge thank you goes out to our incredible PTO and all of the volunteers who helped plan and support the event. Over 170 students attended and enjoyed a wonderful evening together!
Our Kindness Committee also did an amazing job promoting and leading Unity Day last week. Many of our students and staff proudly wore orange to show their commitment to kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. A great reflection of our Split Rock values.
Split Rock would like to thank Officer Brand for visiting with us last week for our first round of C.O.D.E presentations which focused on Personal Safety.
On Wednesday, we were thrilled to welcome Author Mat Heagerty to our school. Mr. Heagerty’s presentation was engaging and inspiring, and our students truly enjoyed hearing about his journey and what led him to become an author.
We wrapped up the week with our annual Halloween Parade. Although the weather didn’t fully cooperate, our staff and students made the best of it—and had an absolute blast! We were still able to parade through the halls so everyone could enjoy the creativity and fun of this special day.
We are excited to share that next week, Split Rock Elementary will be holding our annual Veterans Day Assembly to honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country. This special event provides our students with an important opportunity to reflect on the meaning of service, sacrifice, and gratitude.
We look forward to coming together as a school community to recognize and thank our veterans. Be sure to keep an eye out next week for photos and highlights from what is sure to be a wonderful and meaningful celebration.
Wishing all of our families a safe and enjoyable weekend and a friendly reminder to keep safety first tonight as many will be out and about trick-or-treating.

Our Wildcats continue to work hard and give us their very best efforts each and every day! It has been wonderful to see their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the building. We are also seeing more “Wildcat On-A-Roll” awards being earned and recognized over the past few weeks, which shows just how many of our students are meeting expectations and working extremely hard—keep it up, Wildcats!
We had a great turnout last night for our Family Night Scholastic Book Fair. This is always an exciting event that helps encourage a love of reading for all! The excitement and buzz throughout the building both yesterday and today was awesome to see. I look forward to hearing about all the wonderful books students are reading.
The next couple of weeks are shaping up to be very busy and fun with Unity Day (wear orange!), a visiting author, our Fall Celebration Dance, and the always-popular Halloween Parade. There’s a lot to look forward to as we move deeper into the fall season. Please also know we will look to finish up our fall emergency drills throughout next week.
Please be sure to stay connected and in the know by checking take-home folders and reading messages from both the school and your child’s teacher. This helps us stay organized, safe, and ensures everyone can enjoy these special events together.
BE AWESOME!
