Notes From the Nurse-September 11, 2026
Hi Split Rock Families! I am so honored to be able to care for your children this school year. It has been so nice seeing some new faces and many familiar faces in the hallways the last few days.
Few quick reminders!
If your child is prone to needing a change of clothing, please ensure they are sent with a change of clothes to keep in their locker. I do have extras as-needed. With the cooler fall weather approaching, be mindful of what you're sending them in with as we want them comfortable outside during recess and PE.
If your child has a well-child appointment, please have the Pediatrician fax or print the school health exam form and send it in. This helps us keep the most up to date records on file.
With all of our children back together, is it without doubt we will start to see the spread of viral illness and the forever potential of lice in the building. In regards to viral illness, please monitor your children for illness and keep them home if they are sick. As of now, I have no knowledge of any cases of lice in our building. Please regularly check your child at home to ensure if there is any sign of lice so that treatment can be arranged.
I am looking forward to a great school year and will do my best to keep you informed throughout!

Physicals/Immunizations
NYS requires updated student physicals for Grades K, 1 and 3. I will reach out to you if you are non compliant but good practice is anytime your child goes for a well-child, please have the updated physical sent over to me to ensure we do not fall behind. I will also reach out to any students lacking immunizations according to the current NYS Immunization Schedule. NYS has strict exclusion criteria so I do not want anyone facing exclusion from school. As summer break comes to a close, I hope you all were able to spend time together as a family and enjoy all that this World has to offer. I am looking forward to seeing old faces and meeting new ones!
A few reminders!
Medications - If your child needs medication throughout the school year, including Epi-Pens and Albuterol, I need an updated order from the Physician for this school year. Please if you have not done so already, have the Doctor's office fax over a new order form to my fax at 315-487-5394.
I will be available for Medication Drop-off the following times:
Tuesday August 25th from 3:30pm-4:30pm
Tuesday September 1st from 12:00pm-2:30pm
Wednesday September 2nd from 12:00pm-2:30pm
Thursday September 3rd from 9:00am-2:00pm
If any of these times do not work for you, please reach out to me to schedule a time!

Notes from the Nurse-June 26, 2026
I can not believe summer break is here! Time certainly flies by. It has been the greatest honor caring for your children and watching them all grow throughout the school year. I wish you all the safest and happiest of summer breaks and hope you all get to spend valuable time together.
If anything comes up over the summer and you need to reach out to me, please do not hesitate to email me. This would be the best way as I am not in the office during the summer break. If you do not hear back from me and need more immediate assistance, please call the main office and they will get ahold of me.
As we approach the end of the summer break, I will send out dates that I will be in the building for any medications that need to be dropped off or if you need to discuss any medical plans for your child(ren).
See you all in Fall of 2026!
