Thanking our Veterans,
What a great way to head into the Veterans Day weekend! Split Rock came together for a heartwarming assembly that left a lasting impression on everyone present.
This year's Veterans Day Assembly was remarkable, bringing students and staff together to pay tribute to our nation's heroes and recognize 19 distinguished Veteran VIP Guests. It was a wonderful experience for our students and staff to come together and express their appreciation for the sacrifices made by our veterans.
A highlight of the event was our VIP Guest Speaker, Mr. Craig Dowler, his words served as a powerful reminder of the importance of honoring and supporting our veterans and the impact they have on our community and country as a whole.
The assembly showcased our Grade 4 chorus members singing the National Anthem. This was followed by four Grade 4 students delivering a reading on the “History of Veterans Day” delivering a message on how this day came to be.
We want to give a special shout-out to our Superintendent Mr. David Bills, who played Taps and the many members of our West Genesee High School Wildcat Marching Band who performed the powerful “Star Spangled Banner.”
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this memorable and meaningful Veterans Day celebration.

Update to 2023-2024 District Calendar
Please note that the Board of Education voted at their meeting on October 18 to adjust the West Genesee CSD Calendar to move the Half-Day of School for Students-Superintendent's Conference Half-Day from April 10, 2024 to April 8, 2024. This change is to accommodate a total Eclipse due to occur on April 8 during student dismissal time at some of our schools. Thank you to the West Genesee SEPTSA for the new Communication Boards for each of the West Genesee elementary playgrounds. These boards will assist students with language barriers to communicate and socialize during recess. We and SEPTSA would like to thank East Hill PTA, Onondaga Road PTA, Split Rock PTO, and Stonehedge PTA for their contributions to this project. Superintendent David Bills and Elizabeth Noll helped unveil the sign at Stonehedge at their ribbon cutting ceremony.
