About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2027 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who enter the 2027 competition by taking the 2025 Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test (PSAT).

Marching Band will host their annual Tournament of Bands on Saturday, October 3, 2026 with bands (in order of appearance) from:
Auburn Enlarged City School District/Rome Free Academy/Syracuse CSD/Mohonasen CSD/Jordan Elbridge CSD/Victor CSD/Baldwinsville CSD/Cicero North Syracuse CSD/West Genesee CSD (performing in exhibition)
The show will be held in the Turf Field Stadium and begin at 6:00 p.m. West Genesee Fine Arts Department

Wildcat Selected for inaugural NYS Marching Band
Started in 2026, the New York State Marching Band (NYMB) exists to unite outstanding student musicians from across our state in a safe, inclusive, high‑quality, and FUN marching band experience that celebrates excellence, teamwork, and pride in representing our state.
Wildcat color guard member Gabrielle Mac (pictured above) was selected to be a part of this inaugural band that performed at the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame “Parade of legends” on July 25, 2026.

Wildcat Marching Band Bottle Drive is TODAY!
The West Genesee Wildcat Band Bottle Drive is TODAY beginning at 12:00 p.m.
How you can help:
Leave your bottles out for our volunteers to be collected. Please leave them by your garage door or front door, not by the road. This will guard against theft and protect the safety of our students and volunteers; and/or
Drop off your bottles in the high school parking lot (bus garage side) between 12:00- 4:00 p.m. Wildcat Marching Band volunteers will be ready to unload your car.

Official Opening of the New Turf Stadium
On Tuesday, September 8, 2026 the District celebrated the official opening of the new Track/Turf Field Stadium with a ribbon cutting ceremony! This new stadium replaces the grass stadium that was previously in that area.
Our soccer teams have already enjoyed competing on the new field and our track and field athletes and other teams are looking forward to using it as well!
