West Genesee Intermediate School teacher Jacqueline Mills has recently achieved National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS). Her certification area is in the category of Science/Early Adolescence.
To earn certification from the NBPTS, successful candidates spend between 200 and 400 hours, over a year or more, in an extensive series of performance-based assessments that include teaching portfolios, students’ work samples, video recordings, and a thorough analysis of the candidate’s classroom teaching and student learning.
Teachers also complete a series of written exercises that probe the depth of their subject-matter knowledge, as well as their understanding of how to teach those subjects to their students.

Wildcats advance to the championship of the James P. Snell Wildcat Classic with a 4-1 win over Massena. The Wildcats host Suffern at 1:00 p.m.on Thursday.

Tickets for the WGHS Musical, Cinderella, are now on Sale!! WGHS will be presenting Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella on February 8 (7 p.m.), February 9 (7 p.m.) and February 10 (1 p.m. and 6 p.m.). Thank you to the WGIS Student Council for organizing and sponsoring Spirit Week. They decided to amp up the themed Fridays by having a spirit week! The week was filled with Blizzard/Snow, Ugly Sweaters, various Holiday gear, and topped of with an SU/Orange Day!
