CMS Students Celebrate World Language Week
National World Language Week was a huge success at Camillus Middle School. The students celebrated with announcements in many different languages that are spoken in the Camillus Community along with trivia.
Our students (pictured and listed above) spoke to us in Ukrainian, two different dialects of Arabic, Tamil, and Russian. These students represented the countries of Ukraine, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, India, and Moldova.
Are you as smart as a Middle School student? Here are the trivia questions they had to answer:
On what continents is the country of Moldova?
What country’s flag represents blue skies over fields of grain?
What is the lowest point on Earth and in what country is it located?
What is the name of the highest mountain range in the world that stretches across five countries including India?
What is the name of the canal in Egypt that connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Indian Ocean through the Red Sea?

The top 5 CMS Math League participants did a fantastic job this season. Congrats to Ethan Furze & Rachael Sellars, who tied for 3rd place among 7th graders out of 36 students! As a team, CMS placed 10th out of 22 teams.
Thank you to coach Duschen for her dedication!
